Our Roots and Beginnings…

When we ask Dr. Amparo, what inspired her to be so brave and found a post-secondary school in Miami, being a foreign medical professional and an immigrant in the US?

She always says; “Life can get hard when you try to do something valuable or new, but it is much harder if you never dare,  because when you start something you believe in, in spite of your own limitations, you may win or you may lose, but, if you don’t try at all, then the only outcome is losing.

So,  take steps forward even if you are shaking with fear. What is the worst that can happen? Give your best and give it all! If you win fine, and if you don’t, you learn!

Just focus on progress one day at a time.”

With a winner’s mindset and along with her daughters, and with the support of true friends, and professional guidance, we opened our doors in 2007 providing review programs to help our minorities get state and nationally certified in several health care areas in the State of Florida.

A short time after opening our doors, our vocational division opened offering our students technical and vocational programs that lead to licensure and great employment opportunities in the health care field, such as Nursing, Dialysis and Patient Care.

After several years and many successful stories preparing many foreign professionals become licensed in the US, as well as preparing nursing graduates for their Licensure Exam (NCLEX) and seeing how our students life would change the moment they passed their licensure tests, Active Health Institute became one of the leading schools to provide bilingual training and targeted test taking strategies for the Board’s Exams (NCLEX RN-PN, Hemodialysis, CNA and many more).

In 2014 our directors decided to open our Degree program division offering then the Associate in Nursing and the RN to BSN, or Bachelors in Nursing for Registered Nurses. In 2017 we opened our On-line division offering Nursing Remedials, Hemodialysis Programs, Reviews and Specialized Licensure-Exam-Focused Trainings.

In 2019 we started offering all of our programs with the option of Online-Hybrid components to satisfy the demand of local and out-of-state students seeking opportunities to study, and partake of a personalized approach to education with the distance-education convenience.

The vision doesn’t stop here, Active Health institute with its Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni is on the road of becoming a community’s leading educational institution and we want you on board.
