Now more than ever our local communities need the care and support of Nurses that are willing to educate their patients, and care for them with a holistic approach, practicing the golden rule and “Treat others with the same values you want to be treated.”
The Nursing program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level career as a professional nurse. A well-rounded and balanced education will introduce the student to a broad range of subjects such as communication and natural sciences.
The program includes a challenging curriculum, encompassing nursing communications, nursing management, nursing fundamentals, patient assessment and clinical practice.
The curriculum is designed to provide a competency based, outcome oriented, didactic laboratory and clinical experiences, including the knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to become a Registered Nurse.
As a Nurse you will be able to practice holistic nursing incorporating biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and wellness concepts.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. If under the age of 18 at the time of enrollment, a parent or guardian must enroll the applicant. For students who are 17 years of age or under, a parent or legal guardian must also sign the Enrollment Agreement. (Students must be 18 years of age at the time of graduation).
- The applicant should present evidence of high school diploma, high school certification, equivalent documentation, or GED.
- Submission of a completed application and application fee.
The following data will be utilized by the admissions department in evaluating the qualifications of candidates for admission:

4. Interview with the Director of Nursing or designee.
5. Two professional letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation should include contact information.
6. Transfer Credit – Official college transcripts for all colleges attended and for all courses taken for transfer Must have an overall GPA of 2.6 or higher on a 4.0 to be considered for transfer.

8. Pay all fees required for enrollment.

The Florida Board of Nursing requires criminal background reporting for all applications for licensure and individuals with criminal backgrounds may not be eligible for licensure or employment.
Students will be required to obtain a license from the Florida Board of Nursing to seek employment as a Nurse.

The Nursing Program offered at Active Health Institute is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, and if the student desires to sit for the certification/licensure exam, seek certification/licensure, or practice as a nurse in a state or territory other than Florida (including via licensure by endorsement or via multistate nursing compact), it is the Student’s Responsibility to ascertain the applicable eligibility requirements in the other state or territory and to determine whether the Nursing Program at Active Health Institute will satisfy those requirements. The student’s determination must be made BEFORE beginning the student’s nursing education at Active Health Institute.
